Rachel's First Popsicle

The moment I stepped outside I turned around to see this forlorn look.  Rachel always wants to be outside and hates to be left in the house when others are experiencing the glorious outdoors.  Little did she know that this was a special day.  This was going to be her first experience with a popsicle - a strawberry fruit juice popsicle.

It took some real coercing to get her to put it in her mouth.  And once she did it came back out quickly accompanied with spitting.

She decided to try it again.  The pictures tell the story better than I.

Just when she was getting the hang of it.  It fell from her hot little hands, onto her dress, and then to the ground.

Her bottom lip quickly jutted out in disappointment and sadness.

Then the tears ensued.

The tears only got worse as I took  her inside to get cleaned up.

Sometimes it's hard to be a one year old.  It's hard to experience a new wondrous treat in the great outdoors and moments later to have it taken away again.  Poor kid.  We'll have to do it again soon.

  5. Matching the strawberry on the dress was completely coincidental. Fun though.

  6. I can't believe you gave her a Popsicle in that pretty dress! I love the picture sequence. Poor girl didn't even get to enjoy it very long.

  9. No need to feel guilty. I worry that my future children will feel bad because I take so many pics of Rachel. I'm not sure I can keep up all the picture taking when there are 2 or 3. I guess we'll see.
