Ward Camp out

We almost didn't attend the ward camp out.  It rained buckets all day.  It was icy cold.  We couldn't imagine that anyone would be up in the mountains.  But, Doug was in charge of the sound system.  I was supposed to take pictures.  So... we went.  At least for the evening.  It was muddy and bitterly cold.  Everybody was bundled up and huddled around the fire.  Makes for a memorable trip, right?

Rachel liked the unlimited supply of cookies.

After the rain stopped Rachel began a full scale exploration of the terrain close to the pavilion.

Rachel was happy to see one of her nursery teachers.

One of the families was passing out candy rings.  You know the type right?  There's a little plastic piece to put on your finger and a giant jewel made of hard candy.  Rachel was thrilled by the makeshift binky.  I think she sometimes gets jealous of Joseph's binky.

There was a surprisingly large contingent of people that stayed and camped in the cold and the wet.  Our car was packed full of everything we would need.  But we decided to take our kids home.  If they had been older we probably would have stayed.  There's always next year.
