They are off and running!
The Hare quickly outpaced the tortoise.
But he was undaunted and kept running.
The Hare thought she would take a rest, she was ahead after all.
She hadn't intended on falling asleep. She knew she would have to quickly jump back in the race.
It was soon obvious that she would not be able to catch up.
They both sprinted toward the finish line.
The Tortoise jumped for joy. He couldn't believe his good fortune.
The Tortoise is the winner! What an upset for the Hare.
