Hogle Zoo (8/9/2010)

I am so behind in my blogging that I fear I will never catch up.  If my entries are not quite as witty or my videos as complete you know why.  There are far too many days where the pregnancy ties me to the couch.

Rachel is in love with animals.  She can say and sign dog, cat, duck, and bird.  She says quack and moo on demand.  Her face lights up anytime I put Baby Einstein's videos on with animals.  So we decided it was time for another adventure to the zoo.

It was fun to watch her excitement every time she saw a new animal.

She couldn't even take her eyes off the elephants.

I can't blame her for being mesmerized.  Just look at that baby elephant!

The penguins didn't have quite as big an impact.

In addition to seeing a lot of new animals, Rachel got to try some new foods.

She even tried sucking on ice.  (Not one of her favorites)

It was a great adventure!

But wait!  There's more!  Rachel took her first ride on a carousel.

She liked it at first.

I was surprised at how quickly like turned to uncertainty, then concern, then to "I want to get off."

She really wanted to be back on stable ground with her dad.  You can just see the longing.
