We put special new bedding on it. She couldn't wait to get in and try it out.
We hadn't planned on putting her in it that night. But, it looked like this was going to be one of the easiest transitions ever.
We went through her regular night routine, shut off the light and left the room. Crying, weeping and wailing commenced. I went back in to calm her down. But that was it. She wanted her crib.
We are working on building up her enthusiasm for her big girl bed. But, for now, we are at a stand still. We are weighing the pros and cons. We are considering factors like napping continuance, age and Joseph's need for a crib in the future. We could borrow a crib for Joseph and put off Rachel's move. We could put Joseph in the play yard to sleep for a while. We could take down the crib so that Rachel has no choice but to move beds. We could entice Rachel to move somehow. I'll keep you posted on what we decide to do.
Change is hard no matter the age. Good luck! Hope you figure it out soon.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with that! She sure seems excited to help put it together though- she's going to be handy and crafty all her life, it runs through her veins from both parents.
