10 Months

Rachel is 10 months old! Every day she gets better at crawling. Every day she gets more excited about sharing food. Every day her mom and dad fall a little more in love with her. It hardly seems possible, but it's true.

It's a fun toy. But, Rachel sees a more modern toy.

12 on February 12

Happy (early) Valentine's Day!

We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day on the 12th instead of the 14th. It was fun to photograph most of the excitement.

Doug and I started our day with Valentine's fruit loops.

I spent time on the computer while Rachel took her nap.
Then I retrieved my well rested baby.

I went about my daily chores of cleaning and vacuuming,
while Rachel and Doug went on a secret mission.

Rachel and I shared some pasta and vegetables.

She ate banana stars for dessert.

I took my shower - finally.

Then, Rachel and Doug surprised me with Rachel's valentine.

Doug bathed Zoe.

Rachel played with her toys

and her valentines.

Doug and I exchanged our gifts.

Bethany and TJ came to babysit Rachel so Doug and I

could have a full date night.

Happy Valentine's Day to us. We went to see Avatar in 3D. We planned to lovingly hold hands while we cheered on the hero. Instead, the movie pushed Doug, who had been fighting a migraine all day, over the proverbial edge. I was completely nauseated myself so I was relieved when we went home with two thirds of the movie left to be seen.

Our romantic evening ended with Doug throwing up and sick in bed. I stayed up and watched Lost reruns, ate saltine crackers and waited and waited and waited for the nausea to subside.
