Rachel's 3rd Birthday

Our little fairy was surprised by her Goodwin grandparents with a beautiful bunch of balloons.

She was more than thrilled.

"Thank you Grandma!"

Hugs all around.

I went overboard with this nature/Tinker Bell theme cake.

She loved it!

Nothing like a wonderful family to share such a happy day.

"Happy birthday to yooooouuuuuuu!"

Our resident gymnast entertained everyone while we waited for presents.  Joe thinks it's super funny to be upside down.

This little fairy was given tons of fun presents.  She received a Dumbo, bubbles and a Disney DVD from her Aunt, Uncle and Cousins.

Mom, Dad and Joey gave her a Mickey Go Fish game, Tinker Bell the movie, a cool alarm clock (more about that later), her fairy costume and a reading system.  Lucky girl!

By the time we played with the cousins and returned home Rachel was too tired to do anything.  She couldn't even stay awake long enough for dinner.  "Goodnight sweet 3 year old."

Joseph's 1st Birthday

It's hard to believe that Joseph is already 1 year old.

Okay, almost 14 months now.  We had a blast celebrating his birthday.  He got to play with balloons.

He ate cake for the first time.  See Joseph's Cake Smash.

We had teddy bear PBJ sandwiches with mandarin oranges for lunch.  Yum.

Joe ate his head first.

That night we had a private party.

"Happy Birthday to MEEEEEE"

Joseph ate banana slices at the party.  We couldn't let him eat 2 cake meals in one day.  He didn't mind.

Cool presents!

"That's it.  I'm done.  Party is officially over."

Joseph's Cake Smash

The birthday boy!

Things look ominous for Woody and the cake.

Joe wasn't sure about this cake smashing activity at first.

But it didn't take long for him to get into it.

He got excited and wanted to share with the rest of us.

"This is SO fun!"

"Do I have something on my face?"

"Did I get it?"

Happy Birthday Joseph!

Rachel's Birthday Festivities (Part 2)

Part 2 of Rachel's birthday festivities took place at Grandma and Grandpa Goodwin's house.  I've been on a monkey kick lately so I was thrilled when Rachel chose monkey party plates.  It was a theme I could work with.  Thank you to my friends, the Montoyas, for lending me their barrel of monkeys.

Rachel was soooo excited about her cake.  Here, right in front of her, lay 3 of her favorite things: monkeys, cake, and bananas.  By the way, banana chips are really good smothered in chocolate frosting.

Rachel loves playing her cousins.

I wonder what these two are plotting.

Rachel liked the cake.  But she was mostly interested in the frosting.

The cake and ice cream was quickly devoured and everyone went back to playing.  These two were the last ones left in the kitchen.

Next came the presents.

Rachel was engrossed in her new toys.  There was no time to worry about her shoe.

She loved her Little People doll house.

Rachel shared her baby brother with her aunts.

After most everyone had gone home Rachel found this remote and asked, "spicle me?"

We are so grateful that Rachel is part of our family.  Here's to 2 years of fun and many more to come!
