Copperton Park Playgroup
It is so fun to watch these sweet children of mine grow up. Joseph is in the explore on your own phase. He explored on foot.
He found the slide.
He explored by crawling.
He found a soccer ball! He gave it proper reverence before moving on.
He found Melissa's purse, and in it, the holy grail. Sunglasses!
Rachel still plays solo quite a bit.
"What should I do with these wood chips?"
"I know! I'll see what happens when they are thrown down the slide."
Rachel has a fantastic sense of humor! "May I serenade you?"
"Hurray for playgroup!"
Wyatt Minson made friends with Joe by sharing his fruit snacks.
I love using my telephoto lens to get pictures of these guys without their knowledge. Rachel is learning to play with friends.
What is so fascinating? Were they just studying the wood chips?
Here are a few of my favorites pictures of kids, other than mine.

Virginia Richmond Mission Reunion 2012
I entered the MTC on November 8, 2000. I arrived in the Richmond, Virginia Mission just 3 short weeks later. On November 8, 2001 I went home because the doctors couldn't figure out why I was sick. In December I had my gallbladder and appendix removed. My gallbladder was poisoning me and my appendix was about to burst. My appendix was located on the wrong side of my body.
On January 17th, 2002 I returned to the mission and finished that August. It was one of the most fulfilling experiences to date. I draw on what I learned there in every aspect of my life.
So, in June this year we had our 10 year mission reunion. It wasn't as well attended as I had hoped it would be. I was sad that President and Sister Tanner (my second mission president and his wife) were not there. I had 13 companions, lived with 6 other sisters and served with a dozen others. Only 4 of those sisters were at the reunion.
However, it was a fun activity. I LOVED showing off my handsome husband and adorable kids.
Rachel made friends quickly and they started their own pick-up volleyball game.
Rachel, like her mother, had a hard time getting the ball to go over the net.
Her adorable opponent was swift to come to her aid.
"See! This is how you do it."
Rachel tried again and again.
In a last ditch effort she shoved the ball through the net for the "winning" point.
The poor girl tripped and fell on her way to tell me of her victory.
"What are you doing with that camera?"
"I didn't say you could take my picture."
It was great to see President and Sister Feller. Odd coincidence... President and Sister Feller are neighbors and good friends with Doug's cousins in St. George. What? Do you hear the Small World theme song too?
Sister Fulop (now Hawkins) is originally from Romania. She now lives in Provo.
Jason Skinrood was one of my favorite missionaries. We served together in a number of areas. He was AP when I was a touring sister. It was great to get to know his wife and children.
Here are some of my favorite pictures that I took.
Proof that I was there. We left early and didn't camp out so there might have been some doubt.

Splash Pad Playgroup
Neither kid really enjoys splash pads yet. But Joe loves it when someone is willing to take him walking.

Millcreek Canyon FHE
On August 6th we took the kids into Millcreek Canyon for family home evening . We built our fire a stone's throw from where we had our first date on July 30th, 2006. It's crazy to think it's been 6 years already.
Joe loves to be outside. He was happy to jabber and swing his feet.
He liked adventuring even more.
Rachel tried her hand at roasting a marshmallow.
She wasn't a fan of the smoke or the sticky warm marshmallow.
" 'Smores? Who needs them? We like our graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows separate!"
Doug makes the BEST 'smores. The secret is the way he softens the chocolate by the fire. Then when he adds the perfectly browned marshmallow the chocolate oozes everywhere. YUM!
They are a wee bit messy.
Many marshmallows WERE harmed in the making of our goodies.
