Joseph was peaceful laying under the lilacs on a pillow.
Peaceful, that is, until I told Rachel to go sit by him.
She took my instructions very literally.
We tried this pose, but couldn't really see Joseph's face.
We tried a couple of other poses. But all we managed to do was make the kids cry.
We opted for individual photos in the end.

Rachel liked smelling the lilacs.
She wanted to share the experience with Joseph.
She pried his little fist open.
And tried to get him to hold some flowers.
She was quickly frustrated and abandoned the project. But what she didn't notice was how happy it made Joseph.
He just kept smiling and smiling at her.
I think that if we could have understand his cooing we'd hear him say, "I love you Rachel."
Then to us he'd say, "I have the best big sister."
Oh! Jessica, they are so dear! What a treasure to have such wonderful days and the photos to help you remember them. You really have a gift! Love you soooo much! M
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! I love had Rachel is really trying to help and how much Joseph loved her attention. He is actually smelling the flowers in one of those pictures. Did you show Rachel that picture to show it worked?
ReplyDeleteI'll have to show her.
ReplyDeleteThat's so adorable. You are great at capturing the whole chain of events in your photos. You don't miss anything that way! I love lilacs and wanted some in my yard until I noticed my parent's lilacs attracted the biggest bees I have ever seen- so I will sure enjoy yours through your pictures :)
