Joseph - 11 Months

These pictures are more than a month old.  Which, as you all know, is a significant amount of time in a baby's life.  Better late than never, right?

Bath Time

I started the water then ran to get some pajamas for these two.  They were so excited about the water.

Rachel is our resident expert on baths.  "See Joseph.  That's where the water comes out."

Joseph is our climber and water enthusiast.  He screams the instant you take him out of the water.  So it was no surprise to find him trying to get as close to the running water as he could get.  "Hi Mom!"

Happy Valentine

Yes.  I intentionally left the "'s day" off the title.  Isn't she a sweet valentine?  We're so lucky to have Rachel, Joseph and Elizabeth in our life.

Super-Rachel

Faster than a rolling O.

Stronger than silent E.

Able to leap capital T in a single bound.

She's graceful! She's playful!

She's Super-Rachel!  (and Dumbo too)

Affirmations

I love the way the maid in "The Help" encourages the little girl to repeat affirmations of self-worth.  "You is kind.  You is smart.  You is important."

My plan was also inspired by this youtube video.  http://youtu.be/qR3rK0kZFkg

I have Rachel look herself in the mirror, punch her fist in the air and say, "I am beautiful!  I am capable!  I am intelligent!  I am resilient!  I am important!"

I use intelligent instead of smart because my doctor said that if a kid thinks she is "smart" she might think she shouldn't take risks.  You know... Play it safe.  Be smart.  Sometimes I have her say  "I am worthy!  I am loved! I am funny! and I take risks!"

So using short "I am" statements, what are some others that would infuse strength and confidence into Rachel's and Joseph's souls?  Ideas?  Anyone?  Anyone?

Teddy Bears

Don't you just want to squeeze them?
