Little Bird of Hope

Doug generally works from home.  But, on this particular day in August, with projects looming and the neighborhood internet down, Doug was forced to go in to the office.   Doug was having a spectacularly difficult day and everything continued to go wrong.  So, in an effort to clear his head, he decided to take a walk outside.

On his walk he found this little bird.  It was suffering from an injury.  It likely flew into one of the large windows and fell stunned to the ground.  Doug approached it.  It allowed him to stroke it's feathers then let Doug pick it up.


This little bird became a symbol, or a reminder, that someone greater than Doug was watching over him.


Heavenly Father does not let one sparrow fall without his notice.  This reminder brought Doug hope and peace.  Soon he was surrounded by a flock of employees taking pictures.  Doug found the bird a little haven in the shade away from the crowds and returned to his work.


I think it's amazing how Heavenly Father used a tiny stunned bird to comfort one of his sons.
