Yesterday, October 11, Doug, Rachel and I went to Petersen Family Farm for pumpkin picking. It was exactly the sort of pumpkin experience I was looking for.
We took some pictures by the pumpkins, hay bales and tractors. "Hey Mom! Is this right?"
Then we headed off towards the pumpkin patch.
Rachel started walking.
Then she hitched a ride.
Doug was awesome. He jumped in and started choosing pumpkins while I took pictures of our "little pumpkin."
Rachel followed suit.
She looked for pumpkins. She patted them.
She tested their stems.
And ultimately ended up sitting in the dirt.
Soon we had gathered our fill of pumpkins. We found 2 large pumpkins, 1 medium and 3 small.
The cost? $14. Rachel's smiles and giggles? Priceless.

Looks like so much fun!
